Markets continue down this morning, but I see a good chance that MU firms up before the afternoon update or we double down, so hold the position until the afternoon alert.

BUY MU/ 8/18/23 C68.5 Micron is down for a second day in a row as the Nasdaq has its first real distribution day on heavy volume in a while. The stock was a semi-darling and I expect dip buyers to nibble on the semis first once again. This level in the low 68 area has also filled the gap back down from earnings excitement which should be a solid floor. A little caution though as is this is the first real institutional selling we've seen in a few months so 1 Star and trade last half hour.

SHORT CAT/ BUY CAT 8/18/23 280 PUT Caterpillar, the industrial equipment company is having a massive day up over 8%, and up for the third straight day in a row. We have a situation where an old blue chip stock is being bought like a brand new tech stock which can only mean that old funds have a burn notice to be long this stock today. Stock making multi month highs on good news and getting very stretched here with STT resistance levels right at current levels equals a good set up.   1 Star trade last hour.

Hold MU until the afternoon and trade out between 2-4 EST. Yesterday we saw the market fall off after starting very strong and this is a pattern we see on extended bull runs. NO TRADE over weekend as market is too choppy.

Short FDX/ BUY 8/18/23 P260  FedEx is up yet again for a third day in a row and up over 3% today. FDX is of course an economic bellwether and today is Fed day. Normally after the FED delivers hawkish news about wanting to slow the economy the market rallies that day before digesting the reality of the situation. I expect economically sensitive stocks to suffer tomorrow and FDX is a likely candidate. This is the last trading day of June and Q2.  Markets look to open higher, but OSTK is so stretched I expect maybe a test early, so wait 15 minutes to start trading and be out by 11 EST.  The market is very choppy so no trade over the weekend ,which will feel  like a long holiday weekend. Remember the market is only open until 1 EST on Monday and closed on Tuesday July 4th.
